Hyedi Nelson
Hyedi Nelson, MA, is a health communicator and bereaved parent. In 2014, 20 weeks into her pregnancy, Hyedi and her husband found out their baby had a rare fetal pericardial teratoma with little chance of survival. Ten weeks later, Charlie was born alive, but passed away minutes later. Hyedi serves on the board of directors for Faith’s Lodge, a non-faith-based nonprofit that supports parents and families coping with the death or medically complex condition of a child. She is passionate about removing the stigma around pregnancy and child loss. Hyedi also holds a master of arts degree in health communication from the University of Minnesota.
